From the Himalayas to the Middle East
Asia spans an incredible range. Climb the Himalayas through NEPAL and BHUTAN, cross the steppes of MONGOLIA, and tour Southeast Asia via MALAYSIA, CAMBODIA, MYANMAR and LAOS. Further west lie PAKISTAN and the Middle Eastern nations IRAN, ISRAEL, JORDAN and LEBANON, while KOREA, TAIWAN and SINGAPORE sit out east.
The biggest, most crowded continent
Asia is by far the largest continent — covering about a third of the world's land — and the most crowded, with more than half of all the people on Earth. Both CHINA and INDIA are home to well over a billion people each, making them the two most populous countries in the world.
It's a continent of extremes: the Himalayas in NEPAL include EVEREST, the highest point on the planet, while the deserts, steppes of MONGOLIA, tropical islands of INDONESIA and ancient cities of the Middle East show just how varied Asia is. Many of the world's great religions and earliest civilisations began here, too.
